Thought id bring up a topic ive discussed many times in the past, Who/what in your opinion is the best character in gaming and why?. Doesnt have to be recent or well known as long as they appear in a game and you can think of at least 1 reason it counts.
For me it has to be Snake from the metal gear series,(some of you may be to young to remember lol) Not only can he take on an entire army barely firing a shot, but he does it with such style. He's a bit of a cheeky shit to, back chatting command and doing the opposite of what hes told.

This is a great question lol but it defo has to be the person who flies the space ship in space invaders!
i mean seriously think about it he takes on an entire alien invasion on his own! with probably the worst gun ever invented!!

Ummm... this is a hard question.
Straight away Snake also comes to mind, he is one bad ass character.
But... then there is also Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell, same sort of character but so much more sneaky, and can also take a lot of the shit on without his stealth. Plus the latest game showed a more bad ass side to him, he can punch someone's head head through a sink for Christ sake.
So I'm going to be different and say Sam Fisher

WWOOOWW i cant believe its a thread on badass game characters and nobody mentioned DUKE NUKEM! yet :O
I dont know if hes the most badass but if i had to take on an invasion id like masterchief by my side oo and Lara Croft, but thats more to do with re-population

Kratos is the character in GOW and yeh he is a bad ass but there is only one winner....
COMMANDER SHEPARD!!!! He defeated a reaper and then a baby terminator reaper, destroyed the collectors, told the illusive man to fuck off and stole his ship, killed over 1 million batarians, headbutted a krogan warlord and knocked out a reporter...TWICE.
